in North Texas
ARLINGTON,
TEXAS - August 5, 2008 - Bob Moore Construction has become the first Platinum
Level member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) North Texas Chapter.
The USGBC is a non profit organization that is dedicated to expanding green building practices and education. The organization's LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.
LEED is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings, providing building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings' performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in six key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy, atmosphere, materials and resources and indoor environmental air quality.
Fully sanctioned by the USGBC, the USGBC North Texas Chapter is an organization of 850+ members who are dedicated to promoting a sustainable, profitable and healthy built environment in North Texas.

"Along with this elevated membership level we look to serving an ever-increasing role with USGBC," said Phillip Bell, President of Bob Moore Construction. "We currently serve in leadership positions with organizations like the Associated General Contractors of America, Tilt-up Concrete Association and American Concrete Institute, and our professionals can be expected to do the same with USGBC.
